A 43-year-old woman was killed on Friday following an accident on the Britannia Public Road, West Coast Berbice.
At the time of the accident, Deoranie Sukhram of Dundee, West Coast Berbice was sitting in the front passenger’s seat of a minibus that collided with a fence.

According to information, at around 06:20 hrs, 40-year-old Ukhram Tillack of Public Road Number 7 Village West Coast Berbice, was driving minibus BPP 7638.
Inquiries revealed that the vehicle was proceeding east along the northern driving lane of the wet road at a fast rate of speed. While approaching a right bend, he suddenly lost control of the minibus and collided with a fence on the northern side of the road.
As a result of the impact the driver and passengers, Deoranie Sukhram; and Neola Barnwell, 38, of Eldorado, West Coast Berbice, received injuries about their bodies. They were taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital, where Deoranie Sukhram succumbed to her injuries.
