TWO INMATES SHOT AND INJURED; MATRESS BURNED IN PRISON UNREST
Another prison unrest rocked the Lusignan Prison on Saturday when two inmates were shot and injured during the ordeal at the prison’s temporary holding bay.
The Guyana Ledger understands that the injured inmates were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and are currently being treated. They’re states are said to be stable.
During today’s unrest, it was reported that inmates also set mattresses on fire but prompt response from the Guyana Fire Service extinguished the flames.
