Budgetary allocation towards the development of youth, according to the current administration is of utmost importance. But the key focus will be first placed on disadvantaged youth.
Minister of Human Services Dr. Vindya Persaud, following the presentation of the national budget, explained that government will deliver key services to the most vulnerable groups.
The groups included women, youth and the elderly.
“This will deal with youths who display disruptive behaviors, and we are working with them and their families. So that they can have an opportunity to learn and get the kind of help they need.” Dr. Persaud explained.
Through the budgetary allocation, the government plans to provide support and assistance to stakeholders needed to deal with several social issues. Dr. Persaud further expounded on the impact immediate initiatives will have on vulnerable groups.
She said, “Ministry will be working on is helping women who have urgent needs like food, because we will be going on massive food drives, and we had already started it and budget 2020 will provide more of this.”
