UITVLUGT MAN CLAIMS OWNERSHIP OF 128 GRAMS OF GANJA

Police on Thursday unearthed another drug find, this time on the West Side, and a Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara is preparing for an arraignment at the court. Police say that the 21-year-old was an occupant in pick up which was stopped during a police check point.

Police disclosed, “The motor pick up was driven by a thirty-year-old of Onderneeming Sand Pit Essequibo Coast, which at the time had several occupants enroute to Big Hope Backdam, Waini River.”

It was further noted that the occupants were asked to leave the vehicle and a search was on all the passengers. Police say that nothing of suspicion was found on the occupants. A search of the vehicle however proved otherwise.

“A search of the vehicle unearthed 128 grams of leaves, stems and seeds, suspected to be cannabis which was discovered wrapped in a transparent plastic.” The police stated.

Police said that the suspect was arrested and the narcotics was weighed and sealed in his presence. He remains in police custody.
