The Guyana Ledger has confirmed that the current administration has taken a decision to have Deputy Commissioner of Police Paul Williams proceed on administrative leave. Williams is the third of the quartet to be sent on either administrative or early retirement leave. While trying to ascertain what could have prompted the decision of the government, this news entity was only informed by sources within the administration that Mr. Williams would be notified of his orders before the end of the day. Sources within Police Headquarters told this online news that up to the time of publishing, they were not served or informed of the decision by the government.
